Afterbirth description

Opening in 2028.

'People think the birth's the end of it. The hard part. But there's all the rest.'

The baby is fine. The birth was fine. Annie is fine. She's fine. She's really, really, really fine.

A funny, furious and unflinching story about the disorienting reality of life after birth, from Royal Court Associate Playwright Nina Segal (Cow|Deer, Antigone Exits).

Oscar-winner Jessie Buckley (Hamnet, Cabaret) stars in this world premiere, directed by Maria Aberg ([BLANK]), with set and costume design by Rosanna Vize (The Other Place).

An English Touring Theatre commission supported by the Royal Court Theatre.

Developed through the Genesis Next Generation Programme at the Royal Court.
