The Story

The stage adaptation of Baz Luhrmann's 2001 film tells the story of Christian, a young composer who falls in love with Satine, the sparkling diamond of the Moulin Rouge cabaret club. However, their relationship is threatened by a very powerful and wealthy patron of the club, the Duke of Monroth, who wants Satine for himself. Together Christian and Satine do what they can to keep their love alive, but with terrible consequences.
