Carmina Burana And Serenade description

In the year that marks Director David Bintley's 20th year with Birmingham Royal Ballet, this programme celebrates this two decade lond relationship by combining an early piece by one of Bintley's heroes, George Balanchine, with the first ballet Bintley created for the company as Director, Carmina Burana.

Carmina Burana is a thrilling large scale production, danced to Carl Orff's dramatic amd emotionally charged choral music, for which the Royal Ballet Sinfonia are joined by Birmingham's Ex Cathedra. Inspired by the satirical writings of medieval priests, Orff's rousing choral tour de force is a feast in it's own right. Bintley's breathtaking choreography ensures an unforgettable experience that has been astonishing nd delighting audiences for nearly 20 years.
