Apollo Victoria 80th Birthday Gala description
On October 10th 2010 the Apollo Victoria Theatre will celebrate its 80th Birthday with a special Gala Performance featuring the cast of Wicked and a host of musical stars.
In the audience will be some very special guests who have close connections with the theatre's musical past including Andrew Lloyd Webber, Arlene Phillips, Meera Syal, Jennifer Saunders and Adam Garcia, as well as celebrity fans of musical theatre.
The Gala Performance will be a showcase of songs which have been performed on the theatre's stage over its 80 years and will benefit Cancer Research UK.
Featuring unique performances by current and past Wicked cast members including Rachel Tucker and Oliver Tompsett and the Jersey Boys, this celebration will also include Christopher Biggins as guest MC for the evening.
There will be a host of reunions of original cast and creative teams from the theatre's musicals, including Saturday Night Fever, Movin' Out, Bombay Dreams and a very special one-off reunion of performers from the Apollo Victoria's longest-running show Starlight Express.
